How we treat?

Research on the skills of good mental health shows they are unique from the skills used to overcome disorders.  They need to be learned and practiced in the same manner recovery skills do.  Learning to readily feel gratitude (the ability to feel genuinely blessed by all the goodness in your day that is not due to your own efforts) and hope is essential.  The ability to readily perceive positive events despite suffering is essential.  When these skills are in place, then you can develop resilience and grit, the ability to persevere despite challenges and the ability to recover from mistakes and failures.  Finally, humility, self-compassion and compassion for all beings need to be developed to live well.  Our team seeks to practice these skills in our own lives and work closely with you and your child to improve or develop these vital skills alongside the process of recovery from anxiety.
