Our focus on anxiety and stress-related disorders enables us to stay on top of the latest scientific research and incorporate the best new strategies into our treatment plans. We take great pride in our long history of being on the cutting edge of treatment. Our main therapies include the following:
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy
- Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (for people with OCD who do not wish to use exposure-based treatment)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- Intensive Treatment (daily individualized treatment)
- In home or community based exposure and skills practice
- In person and telehealth
Individual treatment sessions are held in our Deerfield, Chicago or Springfield offices. In addition to meeting you in our offices, our therapists can also conduct sessions in your home, office, or wherever you feel most anxious. We work in settings as varied as schools, elevators, malls, and airplanes, enabling you to gain confidence in the real-life situations that are part of your unique life context.
For patients who move out of state temporarily (e.g. for college) or permanently, our therapists can provide telehealth services in states where they hold a valid professional license, or if they hold an e-passport license through PSYPACT and you are residing in a PSYPACT state. Some non-PSYPACT states may allow licensed psychologists to apply for permission to practice in their respective state.
Our practice is nationally recognized for treating patients with more complex issues. Having specialized treatment teams enables us to mobilize quickly, providing customized, intensive treatment. Our multi-modal approach works rapidly to restore good mental health, even helping to avoid hospitalization for the most severe cases. Through weekly team meetings, our staff has the opportunity to share complicated cases, ask questions, and provide oversight so that each patient is guaranteed the highest level of compassionate care.
We love working with young children through children at heart. Our goal is to provide parents and caretakers the skills you need to become effective at empowering your child to live with confidence and joy. Our staff will help you learn and practice the parenting skills science shows are most effective at raising resilient children.
Our therapists teach you, or your child, how to transform negative thought patterns and unhelpful beliefs into joy and confidence building mindsets. Our goal is to help you build peace of mind because you know you can do difficult things, find joy and create good humor despite the difficulties of life. Our treatment works by systematically and carefully exposing you to fearful situations; this effective approach empowers you to overcome your fears, reducing the discomfort and symptoms you feel, and restoring your peace of mind.
Our canine staff love helping patients overcome their fears. They can help patients feel more relaxed and supported or help those who fear dogs learn how to comfortably be around dogs. Our dog therapists can also be helpful in teaching socialization skills and working with patients with autism spectrum disorder. These wonderful animals love working with our staff and patients, and have helped many to overcome their fears.
