Philosophy of Care:
Stephanie approaches each client from a holistic perspective, using her natural empathy and easygoing nature to understand the circumstances of your life. She structures her therapy sessions to be focused and action-oriented, clearly outlining the activities necessary to help you overcome your anxiety. She incorporates humor and creativity into her treatment, while drawing from the latest evidence-based protocols so that you can accomplish your goals in a meaningful way.
Stephanie is interested in treating all types of anxiety and OCD, but has a particular interest in performance anxiety and ADHD. She relates especially well to children and adolescents. She is driven by her own passion for athletics and holistic health, using a variety of exercise methods to ease symptoms of anxiety.
During vacations, you will often find Stephanie traveling around the world exploring new countries and cultures. An animal lover, she expresses her devotion by serving as a foster parent for dogs. She also practices what she preaches regarding holistic health, using exercise as a self-care method and spending time tumbling in the gym. She shares her expertise as a part-time gymnastics teacher and athletic coach for area college teams.
Experience and Training:
Stephanie earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling with a specialization in sport and health psychology from Adler University. She utilized Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT in her clinical internships while treating children and adolescents. In addition, she has worked extensively with collegiate athletes on performance anxiety and mental skills training, resulting in gains in confidence, motivation, goal setting, and attitude. She is a member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and the American Counseling Association.
