Karin Schroeder-Nothaft is an empathetic practitioner who uses her natural kindness and enthusiasm to develop warm and collaborative relationships with her patients. In her treatment, she draws on techniques from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness and positive psychology. Karin provides the latest scientifically proven and innovative treatments for individuals who suffer from OCD and anxiety disorders in the form of distance counseling/therapy in an online setting.

Most importantly, she offers her patients hope and develops relationships based on trust and respect as they learn to manage their symptoms from OCD or other types of anxiety.

Special Interests: 

Karin specializes in evidence-based treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders (including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Separation Anxiety, Social Anxiety and Clinical Perfectionism) and related disorders. She has presented and led workshops at regional, national, and international conferences including annual conferences of Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).

On a personal level, Karin values spending time with her family and two dogs, traveling, and yoga.

Karin Schroeder-Nothaft, M.S., LCPC, NCC, LMHC is a licensed clinical professional counselor, nationally certified counselor and licensed mental health counselor who specializes in helping children, adolescents and adults overcome anxiety, worries, and related challenges and struggles. She earned her Master of Science degree in clinical counseling from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where she received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Clinical Psychology. Karin successfully combines her experience as an attorney and corporate lawyer in Europe with her clinical training and experience to offer a unique skillset.  She provides distance counseling via email, phone, and video conferencing to meet your needs for flexible scheduling.
